Three people are now facing several charges stemming from multiple breaks-ins Thursday morning to businesses located in Vegreville, Vermilion and Lloydminster, Alberta.
A Lloydminster RCMP news release says Vegreville RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter in progress, at a local business, at approximately 4:30 am on May 1st. A second break and enter was called in shortly afterward, at another Vegreville business. A preliminary investigation revealed merchandise totaling $5000 was stolen.
At 6:08 am, Vermilion RCMP were called to another break and enter of a local vape shop, with approximately $14,000 worth of merchandise reportedly stolen.
At 8:47 am, Lloydminster RCMP were called to a break and enter in progress at another business. Lloydminster RCMP, the Police Dog Service and the General Investigation Section arrived at the scene, when two suspects tried to flee in a vehicle, however it collided with a police unit. They were taken into custody near Rolling Green Fairways Golf Course.
A third suspect fled on foot, and following a brief pursuit, was arrested.
A result of the investigation led to the following individuals arrested:
34-year-old Justin Carlson, of Edmonton, and 22-year-old Emily Carifelle-Potvin from Ponoka, Alberta are charged with: Break and enter with intent (x4); Possession of break-in instruments; disguise with intent; and possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 (x3).
35-year-old Jacob Roach, of Edmonton, has been charged with the above offences, as well as: Dangerous operation of a conveyance; flight from police; resisting arrest; operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited; and mischief under $5000.
