At 6:45 p.m. Sunday Saskatoon firefighters responded to an alarm at Market Mall where smoke was reported in the northeast corridor of the mall.  Fire crews determined cooking equipment in a restaurant of the food court was overheating.  Crews determined there was no fire extension.

And about 45 minutes later the Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a restaurant fire at 3035 Clarence Avenue South in Stonebridge on Sunday evening.  The call came in at 7:23 p.m. and firefighters found light smoke in the building.  Fire crews found light smoke in the building and determined a small fire had occurred in the oven of the restaurant. The fire was extinguished, and no one was hurt.
